Submitted 5 months ago by JackSpent. I get this error message 'Steam api init failed!' When I try to run. I've tried restarting Steam, and my PC. 15:14:11 SteamAPI initialization failed. Steam features wont's be accessible! This dosent mean it dosent connect to steam, my servers have this and it works just fine. This is probably an arma bug, or a steam bug, may or may not be fixed next version. (probs when arma 3 updates their steam API).

Program seems to have some trouble in loading the steam library. After all the map generation and stuff, it tries to locate libsteam_api64.so in which it thinks is in /rust/RustDedicated_Data/Mono/x86_64/ but is actually in /rust/ It is also unable to locate a local instance of steam. [DOUBLEPOST=][/DOUBLEPOST]Basically, the big errors are: Fallback handler could not load library /home/steam/rust/RustDedicated_Data/Mono/x86_64/libsteam_api64.so and [S_API FAIL] SteamAPI_Init() failed; unable to locate a running instance of Steam, or a local steamclient.so. Both are in /rust/, but it thinks that it is somewhere else. Program seems to have some trouble in loading the steam library.

Click to expand. All I did was shutdown the one I ran directly from console, opened a screen and put the whole command in there again.

Why would it be unable to connect to steam when it just did 20 mins ago? EDIT: Okay so turns out running this that way causes some strange permission error in linux. Solution is to force the current user.

Steam

Aka creating one script for the export line and the exec and another to call the script to run into screen. I don't like LGSM so I made my own scripts, maybe I should make them public ones I am done?
